At this point of time I don't have any idea about CTC who are they what they are doing and all. I simply came for Practice and CCC 6 Cleanup. The two hours we spent in the beach cleanup with the team and conversation we had with lot of people in CTC gave me an IDEA, CTC is into so many activities like Sports, Trekking, Gree Events too. Walking through the silhouettes of the past

Write Up by: Srimathi Sridharan

How many times have I felt hung up on something and couldn't move on for some time. When I look back it reminds me of the moments missed while I was frozen in a matrix-bullet-time effect. Increasingly, being in the moment is made possible only by those people and places that are adamant to create long lasting memories for me. My recent photo walk to Thiruvaalangadu was an example of one such irresistible adamancy. All it takes is, gather a few souls eager to create evidences through their lenses, put them in a sub-urban train and transport them back in history to a tranquil little place wrapped in mythology.

To start with, the team got to witness a plethora of scenes around the tank overlooking the historic temple complex. With graceful geese making a parade, a calm old man trying his luck with a fishing rod, an eight year old showing off her swimming techniques and a young white lady looking for solace, there wasn’t any dearth to feed our lenses. While some of us took a dip in the tank, rest of us shared stories that lure people to come to this place.

Once a forest filled with banyan trees, this is the place from where Karaikkal Ammaiyaar, one of the saivaite saints and a great figure of early Tamil literature, started her journey to Kailasam.  The story goes that she witnessed Lord Shiva’s cosmic dance in this location. Considered to be built by Cholas in the 12th century, the main temple has shrines for Shiva and Parvati. I was particularly intrigued by the name of the goddess—Vandaarkuzhali. That’s a beautiful Tamil name and while I was trying to figure out what it means, the team walked towards the Sandhai, the local market.

Following a brief encounter with the shopkeepers, we moved to chase the sun, as it slowly got engulfed by the dusk.

While I’ve spoken enough, the pictures being the official evidences of friendships formed and memories created, would do the remaining task at hand.  Thanks, Vijay and Pramod for pulling the strings and making this trip happen.

CTC EYE CAM- HERITAGE TEMPLE PHOTO WALK

Write up by: Megha Anand

A great way to break free from the mundaneness of one’s daily work routine. Get up, get set, get clickin’!

And the adventure begins…

When I first received an email about the photo walk, all I could do was restlessly get my hands onto the keypad to fill out the form.  The second dose of excitement began right after I reached the railway station.  Well my journey was a bit different from our usual meet ups. Crux of the minute, right when the train was about to depart, that’s when I met the organizers (Pramod, Vijaykumar and Infancia).

Exploring life at Village Kumarancheri, Arakkonam

The people were simple, wonderful & cordial! Paati Gangamal was so awesome to pose for my photo and her baby granddaughter Poojamayuri, star of the show!

The greens have their own sense of beauty and the dwellings boast of vernacular (mud-wall, thatch and wood) architecture and our typical “thinnais”.

Playing drums along with the village kids was the best part! Keeping our spirits high and rejoicing with them was an amazing experience altogether.  Especially watching them perform folk dance and music for an on-going volleyball match.

The bore well! I bet every single one of us out there had a lot of fun taking snaps in and around it. I was a bit afraid at first but started to enjoy it soon after I got in! Meeting all these random people, new faces and making good friends was evidently the best thing about this trip.

Look at all those happy faces! We took a million “selfies” at probably every place we stopped by, thanks to Shaji’s selfie stick. Setting foot on temple grounds…

The art of photography is in itself a blissful thing to enjoy…as each photograph, has a new story to tell. For an architect especially, it brings out all the intricate details, expressions, motifs, colours, emotions, styles and design from every moment of life he or she manages to capture and freeze. Thereby, the trip for me was not only about making new friends but also quite a refreshing way to enhance my observation skills, explore various parts of the town, study the traditional architecture styles of it, learn the culture of the people and enjoy to the fullest!

The three of us were definitely NOT lighting the lamps. Posing for the camera is always fun isn’t it?  A day well spent until sun-down…

And that marked the end of a happy journey—a lot of fun and frolic, laughter, chatter, comedy and crazy entertainment, thanks to all the wonderful people who joined the photo-walk that day!
Before I finish, here’s one last “googly faces” picture.

"Role of urban citizens in environmental conservation and protection"
by Piyush Manush

Piyush Manush is a farmer, environmentalist, entrepreneur and social activist at Coop Forest. Along with few people in 2010, He formed the Salem Citizen’s Forum, a collective of urban citizens that engaged in people welfare activities. The Forum adopted the Mookaneri Lake, a 58-acre located at the foot of the Shevaroy hills, was conserved from massive pollution. He has also made contribution to revive water bodies like Ammapettai Lake, Kundukkal Lake, Ismailkhan Lake, Arisipalayam Pond and Pallappatti well. He opposed commercial mining in Kanjamalai hills and he stands against encroachments and land mafia. He created ‘Coop Forest’, an initiative for forest preservation, on a hilly terrain in Dharmapuri. He won the CNN-IBN Indian of the year 2015 award representing people.
Can man create a forest and make a living out of it? He started planting trees in the city, discovered vermi-composting, began producing plates out of areca palm leaves and manufactured charcoal after his graduation.  The Coop Forest that he initiated teaches us how. There are lot of green ventures involved in the forest which includes bee-keeping, mushroom cultivation, bio-gas generation. The 150-acre land is owned by a cooperative of people. The forest, which was once a dry, lifeless terrain, is now also home to thousands of trees such as neem, rosewood, mango, custard apple, jack fruit, chiku, silk cotton and pungam. Piyush organizes educational camps for school children. He had managed to connect many like-minded people who regularly discuss and find solutions  to every civil, social and environmental problem and have managed to clean up six lakes in the Eastern ghats region. His hope is to increase the number of sustainable development initiatives in this country and the biggest challenge is questioning people’s notion of development. His talk will be about the role of citizens in environmental conservation and protection.

Featuring Dinesh Dinu

What are you currently doing (job/study)? your interests?

I studied and engineering and I am working for a US based insurance company as Senior Accounts Receivable Associate. Also doing a bachelor's degree in psychology.

I am passionate about travelling and photography. I love knowing about different cultures and people around various places.

When & How  did you  get started  CTC?

I have been following CTC for couple of years. But,  only from last year I became a active member. I came in for our ottiyambakkam swimming practice for the first time and got to know Ahamed. Slowly through him found that lot of cleanups and sports activities are lined up.

I was a normal office goer with the routine work and rest type, spending the weekends in theaters,  bars and stuff. But,  after CTC I discovered there are many really soul satisfying things can be found on our spare time.

Slowly I started registering and participating in Cleanups,  runs, and volunteering events. Now, it turned from spending leisure time in CTC to managing the time for keeping our mind and body fit thru CTC.

What are the activities of  CTC that  you are involved in?

With CTC, I am doing cleanups,  swimming,  runs,  plantation drives,  trekking, cycling. Hopefully will be joking the hill runs this year!!!

What will you say has been your biggest achievement when it comes along with  CTC?

From a lazy goose who was hatching on the bed killing time to a person who is practicing for half iron marathon, that what CTC made me.

I am running marathons, cycling for nearly 100k. These things I never even dreamt of.  And wait for my Iron Man finisher medal soon.

Anything else you might want to add?

CTC is not just a group. It is like a family to me now.  I bet most of the CTCians will say the same.
Different people form different setups and professions are united under one tree...  CTC!

I have become a more socially responsible person caring for the environment and nature and trying to do something on my part for the betterment of the following generations.

Share any one of the CTC Best moments you had !

There are lot of best moments with CTC.  I will tell you one incident, which really kick started my interest for running.

I was volunteering for for the Jawadhu ultra last year.  I was happy to see people of all ages run so passionately on the rough terrain challenging themselves on their endurance.

It was almost half time after the runs started. I took my bike with couple of water bottles and snickers and rode along the run route to aid the runners if they need in between the aid stations and also cheering them up. I saw a veteran runner on the route approaching. Only then I realized he was injured and was bleeding from many places,  his tees torn at some places.  And..  Guess what? He is still running.  I rushed to him,  offered some water.  He is over is 60s.  Told him that he is bleeding badly and needs a first aid and tried to reach for some held.  He stopped me and with a smile he said, "I am okay boy. I don't want to stop for first aid, then I will loose my rhythm of running." And he started running.

I was thinking, what necessity does he have at this age to do this.  I how strong and how determined he is. I did my first 10k of my life one week after the incident.

How do you manage your work life balance ?
Most of the clean up activities and swimming is scheduled early morning. So it doesn't affects my work timing.

I schedule my physical activities in a way that I get enough time to boost up energy after  my runs and cycling. And also get enough sleep.  I do also spent times with the friends outside CTC.

Any specific goals/dream that you are working on ?

I am trying to set up a professional photo studio.  Also, I want to become a travel photographer.

How has your life changed after joining this CTC ?

CTC definitely have changed a lot of things around in my life.  First I came to CTC to over come a loss, to divert myself in to something fruitful. Now,  I am not only physically active, I am mentally so strong. The improvement of physical endurance definitely makes a lot of difference in how we see and perceive things.  That confidence you get that you can endure things and can take a wise decisions.

Not to mention, I met a lot of beautiful souls in CTC. I don't want to go by their names as everyone of them are special. I even wondered how come these people who doesn't even know me so well,  are so friendly and caring and so supportive. Really happy for being around u people. Trust me,  my other non CTC friends are already jealous.

Doing something back to the world!  This one thing most of us miss doing.  I am happy that I am giving something back to the mother nature when I do cleaups,  planting a sapling maintaining, avoiding the usage of plastics in my lifestyle and try to recycle/reuse few stuff whenever there is a chance.

In total CTC has made me physically strong,  mentally strong and also soulfully happy being able to do something back to the society !!!

Share some of your cycling  that you did in the CTC?
After school, I only started cycling after joining CTC. Just a 6 months old cyclist.

With our CTC friends I cycled many times.  And two of them are memorable ones.  My first and second 100k cycling.

On the first 100k the day started as a normal cycling weekend and plan to ride along the east cost as a leisure ride with no target.  Time went by and the ride too..  The mileage was 113k when I finished the ride. With the encouragement from our CTC friends and pro riders I did the second 100k.

Thanks to Ahamed who has always been with me in all the startup things I do. He encourages from the day one we met in the quarry till now.  Most of the active CTCians know us a brothers.

We have seen you in leading many of volunteering and how does this helps you outside CTC ?

Leading a CTC volunteering team is no small job.  Lots of planning and hard work goes in to it.  Thanks to you Peter, for giving such an opportunity. In CTC everyone is a volunteer and leader.  All our voices are heard. And managing big events with CTC give you more potential.

This has helped me in improving my leadership qualities and to plan on how should the task be completed. It has given me a higher hand in People management and pre planned workflow. Looking forward for many more events.

What are you other interest?

I love bike riding and photography the most. I am starting up a blog page about the places I travel.  All contents set to be published soon.

குக்கூ குழந்தைகள் வெளி ( Cuckoo Movement for Children) Cuckoo Forest School !

Story of Cuckoo in their own words

We are from the Cuckoo Movement for Children. It was started by a group of friends in 2004. Our objective — letting children discover themselves. We mostly work with little ones from rural Tamilnadu, who lack the opportunities that children from urban environments take for granted. We introduce them to Nature, good books and movies. We tell them stories, play with them, draw and paint with them, introduce them to the colorful world of photography, traditional folk arts, music, martial arts, theater, and also engage them in exciting discussions on socio-political and environmental issues. We wish to bring out the inherent spark in every child. And more than anything, we want to learn from them, for their world is the most beautiful place on earth.

We have established libraries across Tamil Nadu, where local volunteers work with children from the area. Our libraries are not just a place to read – it’s a place for kids to meet on a regular basis. We have nurseries attached to the libraries where children raise saplings using seeds they collect themselves, plant them in their localities and tend to them.

Hey, we want you to note that we aren’t an NGO. We are just a bunch of happy friends, who absolutely adore children and everything related to them.

Here is a nice video by the school :

What are you currently doing (job/study)? your interests?

I am working as a Manager in Carrier Airconditioining and Refrigeration Ltd, Bangalore. My Interests are trail running and MTB cycling in hills.

When & How  did you  get started  CTC?

I started my journey with CTC in Feb 2015. I purchased a MTB cycle and was browsing in the web to join some cycling group. I found CTC outdoor activities quite interesting and become a member. It started off with an off road cycling trip with peter to Javadhu for two days. I was totally surprised to see Peter and Raghul trekker were running on the second day for 50 kms whereas rest all were cycling. That incident strike deep inside me that one day i should also able to run such long distance. Then I started following CTC activities very closely and participated in most of the hill cycling in 2015. Parallely I also started running but set backed by couple of injuries and was out of running for 6-8 months. Last Jan I ran my first longest distance Meghamalai downhill on the monthly hill run (35 Kms) from Manalar to Chinamannur. From then on I started running long distance regularly

What are the activities of  CTC that  you are involved in?

Monthly Hill Runs, Javadhu ultra, Chennai Trail Marathon and as a volunteer in Chennai iron Triathlon & Chennai Coastal cleanup.

What will you say has been your biggest achievement when it comes along with  CTC?

I have realized my natural talent of Running after joining CTC.Last year alone I ran 3 ultras (2-50 kms and 1-80 kms) within a year of serious running and also completed the recent Wipro Chennai marathon in 3 hrs and 40 mins, Thanks to CTC monthly Hill runs.

Anything else you might want to add?
I came to know about endurance sports after joining CTC. CTC members have taken the sport at right spirit and they are my inspiration in life.
In CTC no one stop at their interested activity, they keep trying something new

Share any one of the CTC Best moments you had !

I would say all my hill runs were my best moments with CTC. Wonderful experience in running close to nature, drinking water from the small villages, taking a dip in the lake/mountain streams and to share lighter moments with fellow CTC members. Best part is you will be totally isolated from outside world - no phone calls, emails and social life

How do you manage your work life balance ?

I spend around 12-15 hrs weekly for running, gym and yoga exercises. By spending time for these activities made me more effective in my work. Early morning runs keeps me energized throughout the day.

Any specific goals/dream that you are working on ?

I wanted to run this year Javadhu Ultra 100 K and Malnad Ultra 110 K. Also I wanted to run 700 K ladakh run along with Peter.

How has your life changed after joining this CTC ?

Earlier i used to procrastinate for doing a task, after joining CTC and regular running i am proactively doing my task which helps me in saving lot of time. Also i started caring more about Nature and understood the importance of individual contributions to nature

Share some of your cycling  that you did in the CTC?

I did quite a bit of hill cycling in western ghat and eastern ghats with CTC. Cycling in Eastern Ghats are really challenging because sometimes you have to carry cycle on your shoulders and climb the rocky mountains.

We have seen you in leading many of volunteering and how does this helps you outside CTC ?

It helps me in communicating effectively with others  in both personal and professional life.

What are you other interest?

I wanted to learn swimming and participate in CTC Triathlon events. Also my interest is to join Ainthinai team in tree plantation activities

Guys start running you will see your life in a different perspective. Life is not about earning and living for self and family it's also about contributing back to the society and nature.

It will be useful and less time consumption... at the end of the all veg waste can be put up ..
Egg shells have to be crushed with hand
NON veg waste takes extra time to decompose
..............
Setting up compost bin
I am using Kamba, Which is three layered Clay (terracotta) Pot with a clay lid and for or a family of 3
The bottom layer is called as pot and that is a closed pot on bottom..
Have to fill with 2 handful of cocopeat(We can order cocopeat even online now a days) 10 kg 60 Rs a Big sack can be used for 2 months..
Leave the C Pot as it is with 2 handfull of cocopeat..
Middle pot is called B pot, that have net type wholes on the bottom and cover the net of B pot with Newspaper

Top Pot is called as A Pot which we have to start filling
Cover the net area with news paper
Add 2 handful of coco peat

Daily takeout news paper fill regularly..
Now once pot is full take it and replace in B place..
Now fill B pot in same method..
Don't forget to spray water daily.

After A pot and B pot are full.. now take the content of A and put it in C and spray water.. now A is empty..
Again if A is full.. Empty B pot into C and at the time C will decompose and become half so we add..
After everything is full Take C pot and put n a Waste bucket. Or leave out pot and cover with news Paper...
Make sure compost is not too wet
Make sure to stir the compost frequently
After 2 months time the first compost with earth smell is ready

CTC Ainthinai's Green Efforts of the Week

$

0

Ainthinai the Green wing of CTC was started in 2012 with a centralized aim of creating a sustainable environment for the future. Nature conservation events like tree plantations and maintenance, clean ups at water bodiesOrganic and terrace farmingworkshops on waste management and plastic free lifestyle form an integral part of Ainthinai.

After the tropical Storm Vardah, Chennai lost most of Golden green cover. We began our mission towards recovering the lost by analysing lot of options and are working on a high level plan. Natural Calamities cannot be controlled, but to respawn and fix the loss is in our hands.

Ainthinai has the habit of taking care of the budding trees. Maintenance activities will be organised for approximately one year where volunteers will be involved in removing weeds, mulching, manuring, digging water holes etc around the saplings. As a result of these maintenance activities the Saplings planted during the previous years have shown a survival rate of 70 to 80 percent.

The automated and Engineered life is engulfing even the remote areas of the world which might result in an Environment that may Not support healthy living for the generations to come. CTC and Ainthinai are working tirelessly in breaking these walls from the daily lifestyle of the common man and exposing them to an arena of Happy and Healthy living.

The Mornings of Jan 25th to 29th was fully packed with Ainthinai events mainly involving maintenance of the saplings we planted in different drives around Chennai. With Support from approximately 150 Volunteers these five days of Green Drive events we handled more than 500 Saplings that will form an integral part in Chennai's Eco System. Thanks to each and everyone of you for sparing your  early mornings towards a Green Mission restoring Chennai.

 From Soil to Cradle..

More than 30 Saplings growing on the street sides with potential risks from Cattle, have been Transplanted to bags and will be nurtured personally with care to be planted at safe locations in our Future drives.

Our R-Day morning was spent at a Graveyard in Sholinganallur. We planted a few saplings and did maintenance tasks for 100 plus saplings. The tasks involved mulching, creating water pits, set up drip irrigation and pruning. Ready for another morning at a Graveyard.. ? Watch out for more events.

Thanks to TRIL Info Park, Taramani Chennai for providing us with more than 100 bags of dry leaves and twigs. These were  used as mulch for approx 100 saplings planted along Velachery Pallikaranai road.

Green Ponds is a eco recovery project Restoring water bodies of the city and Ainthinai partnered with the team to  do a plantation around the ponds.

From Ajay Velappan..

"These guys never get tired of doing green activities.Feeling amazed to see few guys who tirelessly engage themselves for #Ainthinai #greenponds
4 trees which were uprooted in #Vardha were salvaged.
The happiness you get when you are involved in making the fallen tree to stand erect with proper measures is, Man can't be expressed
."
Pooncheri, hidden between OMR and ECR, this little village was garlanded  with more than 100 saplings in 2016 with the support of Highways department.  Similar maintenance activities was carried out here for a healthy growth.
"Any initiative towards conservation requires external support apart from selfless volunteers, be it logistics, saplings, tools etc. In this regard we would like to thank LYNK Logistics Services for sponsoring two of our events with transport. Green Ponds Tree Plantation Drive at Avadi and Saplings Maintenance Drive at Pooncheri, OMR. "

" We are moved by your deep concern for Chennai and recovering its lost Green cover.  Without your Support we wouldn't have managed to finish these events on time."
Those interested can check out Lynk App from PlayStore and AppleStore to utilize their service.

What are you currently doing (job/study)? your interests?

Majority of my experience has been as a Functional Consultant in the Capital Markets Industry and I am currently in between jobs/career.. Got a strong connection with Outdoors and an active lifestyle..

When & How  did you  get started  CTC?

Guess sometime in the second half of 2013 where I got relocated to Chennai and found almost nothing closer to my interests..CTC was a jackpot, literally!:)

What are the activities of CTC that  you are involved in?

I've tried my hands on most of the stuffs in the CTC platter- right from Running/Swimming to Cleanups to Tree plantations & except for a few like Photography & Biking where I know am terrible and its best to be untouched for the benefit of everyone!

What will you say has been your biggest achievement when it comes along with CTC?

Each of CTC's events has an objective & action attached to it.. Being a minuscule part of the proceedings (rather than ignoring or complaining) is in itself an achievement as far as I am concerned!

Anything else you might want to add?

CTC is the best asset class in town to get unlimited returns practically with a Zero Rupee Investment (Wish Mr.Peter doesn't read this & changes the T&C's!! :)

Share any one of the CTC Best moments you had !

Best moments many, but this one I had to say- Well, I had always wanted to finish a Marathon some time in my life and had been training (on & off) for the same..There was a prominent Marathon in the City where in I registered and crossed the finish line to realise that I didn't finish a 2.5 km loop somewhere in the middle (sounds silly but partially mistake lies with me as well as I missed a sign board inadvertently). After so much of deliberations (& half marathons), I participated in CTM 2016 (42 kms) again with some nagging injuries..But the dream of finishing my first marathon got fructified in a CTC event with selfless volunteers around is a moment which I will always cherish!

How do you manage your work life balance ?

I will pass on this question for now but I think if you are really engrossed with anything of your interest (outside of work), you will some how find a way to do it and lack of time or anything for that matter would be just an excuse..

Any specific goals/dream that you are working on ?

Not a dream or goal but my belief is that once the available natural resources in the world starts shrinking rapidly, we as humans will be made to choose a more sustainable community living  and is way different than the way the society is constructed now. Participating in many of the CTC activities helps me to be better equipped for the future!

How has your life changed after joining this CTC ?

For good definitely:) I've never realised the importance of staying fit until I became regular with CTC. Fitness had always taken a backseat and glad its never too late anytime to take control of my health back, Thanks to CTC!

Share some of your running that you did in the CTC?

I started of with CTC's 10X10 and gradually progressed with the distance. Now I am one of the known suspects in CTC's hill runs. Apart from the run, I enjoy the breathtaking views the lesser known trails in India has to offer and of course the food we get there! :)

We have seen you in leading many of volunteering and how does this helps you outside CTC ?

Yes, more than the times that I participate in CTC sports events you could see me volunteering out there :)  CTC is an excellent platform where you have members of different age groups & different backgrounds with a common interest. Volunteering helps you to be friends with everyone who are even outside of your known/limited circle!

What are you other interest?

I am generally interested in gadgets/apps which reduces monotony and workarounds!

CTC 9th Bday Celebration Weekday Camp Feb 7th & 8th

Weekday Morning Trek & Night Camp WRITE UP - Harikumar
Where it started?
I have always been intrigued as to where around Chennai an overnight camp/ trek is actually possible. After close to 6 years of regularly irregular CTC treks, the conundrum really picked my mind. I finally got my opportunity to explore the idea on February 7th 2017.
Image may contain: one or more people, people standing, sky, mountain, outdoor and nature

For someone who is used to gathering at the famed Nathan's cafe at Koyembedu, Guindy metro station was a new starting point. Apparently that meant Alandur metro station. After innumerable dropouts and several calls, it was decided that I will be picked up at Velachery check post. There I met four new friends - Sujith the robotics man, Dinesh our driver who is into food processing, Mahesh the photographer who is also a graphic arts designer and Rahul the grocery supplier who is multi level marketing. After picking some bread on the way, we picked our way through the south Chennai traffic to reach VIT Chennai at about 8 pm. As against popular opinion, the trek wasn't surely inside VIT and we were to gather some 50 meters away from that entrance.

Image may contain: 4 people, people smiling, people standing, stripes and outdoor

Reaching our destination

After a mini conference at VIT Location, it was decided that one of the bikers Prasa would lead us to the camping spot. Off we went on unknown roads further south from the Vandalur Kelambakkam road to roller coaster our way to the camping spot. After about half an hour negotiating blind pits and bumps, we suddenly realized we were climbing a bit. The signals on the phone started to wane off and soon we hit a dead-end. Or so we thought. We had actually reached the camping spot. We cleared some trees and started to set out our camping gear all about a flat space perfect for camping.

Image may contain: 4 people, beard and indoor

Kitchen Kalata's

We had empty cans to get water and couldn't start cooking straight away. But some of us had water in our bottles and we cleaned a few knives to start cutting vegetables. We had to cut onions, carrots, potatoes, green chillies, cauliflower for the vegetable biryani, onions and green chillies for raita, more potatoes for side dish and some of the others got into readying some chicken for the barbecue as well.

Image may contain: fire and food
Srini, our chief cook was overseeing the proceedings and our organizer, Vanathi, in spite of all the halla bulla, managed to collect the meager cost of 200 per head from all of us. Some innovative dum biryani cooking and a splendidly weird potato, cauliflower, bread and onions gravy (over seen by Poo Kadhirvelan I think) were highlights from the cooking. The biryani, raita and potatoes were all finally ready by about 11 pm and the chickens were grilled as well. Soon some of us had "early" dinner ahead of others who had gone to fetch more water and got into getting ready the bread halwa for dessert. Finally by about 12 midnight we all had the tasty halwa cum payasam and hit our tarps for the sleep with the organizer promising to wake us all up at 4 am for the trek.

Morning Trek
We got up only at about 6 am and then quickly in about 20 minutes managed to dispose left over food, collect trash, pack our gear, even attend nature calls and set out for the trekking spot. We reached the spot at about 7 am and began the trek earnestly through a jeep trail in between bushes. Soon we hit a road and followed another stone-filled jeep trail that lead into the hills. Soon in about 40-45 minutes we reached the peak view point and gathered for a group pic there. The view of man-made quarry lakes was a sight to behold.

Way back to City life and realizing the previous night

The trip down was fast and by about 9 am all were set to go back to their lives in the concrete jungle wondering if they should simply take the day off and savour the events overnight or face some serious work.
